about
Mary originally wrote "Air" as a potential companion song for a short story by her friend, author E. Christopher Clark. Back in 2013, Chris was doing a reading of his story at a NH Media Makers event, a story involving two characters, Veronica and Desiree. There is a point in the story where Desiree tells Veronica how much she loved a song Veronica had written when the two were in high school. It was Mary's job to write that fictional song.
"Air" didn't end up being right for that project. Nevertheless, it was a good song in its own right, and Mary continued to perform it solo using a Rhodes-like keyboard sound. But it felt ... empty.
One night a few years back during band rehearsal, Mary started playing this song, using that Rhodes sound, but kept losing track of the rhythm. So Dann started snapping. Between that and his instinctual harmonies, it was clear that this was the missing piece. Mary had never expected this tune to become a Three At Home song, but it was pretty clear to both of us that we needed this one in our set from now on.
And now, you can hear it in the form it was always meant to take -- a full-band track with a slow build, complete with an EPIC guitar solo by the infamous George Woods.

Air (lyrics) - Mary Casiello
Where is the air?
I can't breathe anymore
My voice is so weak
I can't speak anymore
What are the words?
What will open the door?
What will open your eyes?
You can't see anymore
Once long ago, did you know?
Did you know?
One perfect phrase might
Help you remember
What is so hard
About truth in everything?
We all beg for pardon
For feeling anything
Vulnerable
Ain't as good as some sexy fling
So I must disguise
Words that tell you you're everything
Once long ago, did you know?
Did you know?
One perfect phrase might
Help you remember
Plug the power in
Amplify my thoughts
Up above the din of all this idle talk
Take your earplugs out
Wreck your hearing with the sound
I am screaming out
I am screaming out
Once long ago, did you know?
Did you know?
One perfect phrase might
Help you remember
Where is the air?
I can't breathe anymore
Where is the air?
I can't breathe
